Examples

"The ultimate objectives of the Decision-Maker" <-[KEENEY92 p.62]

Rationale: this Concept is intended to help us focus on our primary responsibility; to not get distracted by things we cannot change (Fundamental-Objectives) and things which are merely intended to support us (Means-Objectives).

Notes

Strategic-Objectives are related to a specific Level of Decision-Maker. They are the primary concern and responsibility of that Level. They are designed in order to serve that Decision-Maker”s own boss or higher-Authority”s Fundamental-Objectives.

Usage 1. As a Result of trying to meet our Strategic-Objectives (“our ends”), we will plan/design some “Solutions/means” which can include both “Means-Objectives”, and other “strategies” for meeting our Strategic-Objectives.

"All other objectives of that Decision-Maker must be Means-Objectives

to the Strategic-Objectives" <- [KEENEY92 page 62]
Strategic-Objectives support “Fundamental-Objectives”, and are
Supported-By “Means-Objectives”.
“Strategic-Objectives are intended to define the concerns of a single
Decision-Maker for all decision situations” <- [KEENEY92 page 63]
