Notes

1. We use the adjective ‘generic’ when we refer to any Systems-Engineering specifications (for example, Rules, Processes, Conditions and, Requirements specifications), which can be used, perhaps with tailoring, in many different kinds of specification Processes and/or specifications. For example: Generic Rules, Generic Exit-Conditions, Generic development Process, and Generic-Constraints.

2. The main Idea behind ‘generic’ things is reuse. We want to reuse methods, Rules, and any form of Engineering and management wisdom. The alternative is to have repetition of methods and ideas, which are in fact common in many areas. This would lead to problems in consistency, learning and updating. It would also increase unnecessary bureaucracy: instead of having to write, learn and maintain multiple versions of essentially the same thing, we do it once.
