A Result is an outcome for a System After (or the “testable effect of”) the “Do” phase of any Plan Do Study Act (PDSA) cycle.
Concept Number: *130
English Master: Result
Synonyms, Variations & Acronyms: Step Result
Results are analyzed in the “Study” phase.
Within Evo, “result” is specifically used to refer to any outcome of a Delivery-Cycle within a Result-Cycle.
Figure *130: Showing the distinction between an incremental and an absolute Scalar Result.
1. Results can be the outcome of many simultaneous factors. These factors include Processes, events, and inputs that are both internal and/or external to a given System.
2. A Result can consist of several Impacts on the Requirements; that is, several performance, Resource and Function Attributes can be impacted as a Result of a System change.
3. Results can be observed by testing System Functionality and measuring System Attribute Levels (potentially any performance and/or Resource Levels may be changed).
4. A Scalar Result can be viewed in terms either of the absolute Level or as an incremental change relative to a selected Benchmark (See Figure *130).
