An estimated or actual Safety-Margin can also be calculated. If no specific required Safety-Factor is specified then the Safety-Margin can be calculated relative to the (estimated or actual) target or Constraint Level (100%, equivalent to a Safety-Factor of 1).
A Safety-Margin can also be expressed as a percentage based on the target or Constraint Level being 100%, and the Baseline being 0%.
A “Safety-Factor”, by comparison, is a dimensionless ratio.
