Detailing

The elements of a hierarchy can be organized by some classification into distinct Levels, where there is a relationship between the Levels. Either the higher Levels have some kind of Authority or control over Lower-Levels, or decomposition occurs down the hierarchy (the higher-Levels can be broken down into their lower-Level sub-components).

Notes

1. Within Systems-Engineering, there are several hierarchical structures of specific interest:
• organizational/management structure hierarchies
Process hierarchies
• System specification hierarchies: The information relating to a System can be arranged in a hierarchy that stretches from the System name at the top hierarchical Level, down through the different specification Documents, to the individual Attributes. For example: hierarchical tag names.
